Robinhood Plans to Launch Private Fund to Provide Retail Investors with Access to Private Companies: Robinhood announced it has filed a preliminary registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), planning to launch Robinhood Ventures Fund I, a closed-end fund offering retail investors access to private companies. Robinhood stated that previously, retail investors had difficulty accessing high-growth opportunities in the private sector, a market dominated by wealthy individuals and institutions. The fund will invest in a portfolio of cutting-edge private companies and, upon SEC approval, will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol RVI. Retail investors will then be able to trade the fund through Robinhood and other brokerages.
