A package bomb was received at an Allianz insurance agency in Montluçon, a city in central France, on the 10th, seriously injuring one person while retrieving the package. According to AFP, the injured person was the 34-year-old son of the agency's head. He was retrieving letters and packages from the mailbox when a grenade hidden inside exploded, severely injuring his hands and chest. Bomb disposal experts handled the scene, and police arrived to investigate. Prosecutors are investigating the incident as an attempted murder. Allianz, the German insurance company to which the agency belongs, "strongly condemns any violence or criminal acts against its employees, operations, or property." A few days earlier, an Allianz branch in Toulouse, a city in southern France, was also attacked. A local anarchist group claimed responsibility for smashing the windows of that branch, stating that they did so because they were unhappy that Allianz provided insurance services to an Israeli defense contractor whose products are used by the Israeli military in Palestinian territories.
