[Netherlands' Trade Surplus Hits Seven-Month High in October] ⑴ The Netherlands' trade surplus widened to €12.47 billion in October, compared to €9.36 billion in the same period last year. ⑵ This is the largest surplus since March, with exports rising 1.1% year-on-year to a seven-month high of €69.63 billion, supported by a 2.7% increase in sales to EU countries, while exports to non-EU markets declined by 1.1%. ⑶ Imports rose 1.4% to €57.16 billion, mainly driven by a 1.2% increase in imports from EU countries and a 1.5% increase in imports from non-EU countries. ⑷ From January to October this year, the trade surplus narrowed to €102.9 billion, compared to €111.78 billion in the same period last year.
