[UK Construction Output Growth Slows to Expectations in October] ⑴ UK construction output grew 0.9% year-on-year in October, slowing from 1.3% in the previous month and below market expectations of 1.6%. ⑵ Although this marks the 15th consecutive month of expansion, the growth rate is the slowest since January. ⑶ New construction activity slowed to 1.9%, down from 2.5% in September; while maintenance and repair activity continued to decline by 0.6%, a slightly larger drop than the 0.5% decline in the previous month. ⑷ On a month-on-month basis, construction output fell by 0.6%, reversing the 0.2% increase in September, with new construction declining by 0.7% and maintenance and repair declining by 0.6%. ⑸ In the three months to October, total construction output fell slightly by 0.3%, with maintenance and repair declining slightly by 0.1% and new construction increasing slightly by 0.1%.
