[TrendForce: Top 10 Global Foundries' Revenue Up 8.1% QoQ in Q3] ⑴ According to the latest survey by TrendForce, the global wafer foundry industry continued to be driven by demand for high-performance computing for artificial intelligence and main chips and peripheral integrated circuits for new consumer electronics products in the third quarter of 2025. ⑵ Among them, high-priced wafers produced using advanced processes of 7nm and below made the most significant contribution to revenue. In addition, some manufacturers benefited from supply chain differentiation opportunities, driving the combined revenue of the top 10 wafer foundries to increase by 8.1% QoQ, reaching nearly US$45.1 billion. ⑶ The agency stated that due to the anticipated impact of international conditions on the economic climate and demand in 2026, coupled with the quarterly price increases and tight capacity of memory chips since mid-2025, the supply chain is becoming more conservative regarding demand from mainstream end-user applications in 2026. ⑷ Even though the automotive and industrial control sectors are expected to resume inventory build-up by the end of 2025, the growth momentum of wafer foundry capacity utilization is expected to be limited in the fourth quarter, and the combined output value of the top 10 foundries may see a significant contraction in QoQ.
