[US Electric Vehicle Sales Plunge in November, Tesla Falls to Nearly Four-Year Low] ⑴ Data released by US automotive consulting firm Cox shows that Tesla's electric vehicle sales in the US fell to their lowest level in nearly four years in November. ⑵ Data shows that overall US electric vehicle sales declined by more than 41% year-on-year in November, with Tesla's competitors experiencing even larger declines. ⑶ Analysts point out that since the US federal government stopped providing tax credits of up to $7,500 per electric vehicle starting September 30th, US consumers who originally planned to buy electric vehicles may consider other models instead. ⑷ In response to the subsidy cancellation, Tesla launched simplified versions of the Model Y and Model 3 in October, with prices reduced by about $5,000 compared to the previous base models. The simplified Model 3 is currently Tesla's cheapest model on sale; however, consumers still didn't buy it, and Tesla's sales declined significantly in November. ⑸ The cancellation of the tax credit policy not only impacted Tesla's sales but also had a more severe impact on other electric vehicle manufacturers.
