[Russia's Central Bank Sues Euroclear in Moscow Over Frozen Assets] Russia's central bank has filed a lawsuit in Moscow against the European Central Bank (ECB) over frozen state assets. The central bank warned the EU that if the EU uses these frozen funds, Russia will take global retaliatory action to recover hundreds of billions of euros in assets. In a statement on Friday, the Russian central bank said it had filed a lawsuit with the Moscow Arbitration Court, accusing the Belgium-based trustee of "illegal activities" that have rendered the bank "unable to dispose of its own funds and securities." In a separate statement, the bank further warned that it will challenge the European Commission's unauthorized use of its assets "in all available competent authorities, including national courts, foreign judicial bodies, and international organizations," and will seek to "enforce relevant judicial rulings" in any country.
