[Ukraine Claims Missile Attack on Black Sea Port City Causes Cargo Ship to Catch on Fire] On December 12, local time, Ukraine reported that the Black Sea port city of Chernomosk in Odessa Oblast was attacked by Russian missiles that afternoon. A Turkish-flagged container ship docked in the port was hit and caught fire, injuring at least one person. The hit ship is reportedly a container ship belonging to a Turkish shipping company, carrying cargo including generators. Ukrainian emergency services stated that the fire is under control, the injured person has been taken to hospital, and environmental monitoring has not detected the release of hazardous substances. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy condemned the Russian missile attack on Odessa Oblast that day in a post on his official social media platform. Zelenskyy stated that Russian forces not only hit a Turkish-flagged civilian cargo ship in Chernomosk port during the day, causing injuries, but also attacked Odessa's energy infrastructure the previous day.
