The US dollar index rose on December 12th, with the index measuring the dollar against six major currencies gaining 0.05% to close at 98.397 in late trading. At the close of trading in New York, the euro was at $1.1740, essentially unchanged from the previous session; the pound sterling was at $1.3366, down from $1.3389; the dollar was at 155.90 yen, up from 155.61 yen; the dollar was at 0.7959 Swiss francs, up from 0.7951 Swiss francs; the dollar was at 1.3766 Canadian dollars, down from 1.3779 Canadian dollars; and the dollar was at 9.2732 Swedish krona, up from 9.2542 Swedish krona.
