According to CCTV International News, at noon local time on December 13, a United Airlines Boeing 777-200 aircraft, UA803, en route from Washington Dulles International Airport to Tokyo Haneda Airport, reportedly encountered an engine problem during takeoff. It is speculated that debris or flames from the engine malfunction during takeoff ignited bushes along the runway. The aircraft then flew over Fredericksburg, Virginia, to dump fuel before returning to Washington. There were reportedly no injuries on board. The runway has been closed, and the cause of the incident is still under investigation.
