The notice states that, on the basis of completing high-quality healthcare security fund settlements, the settlement process will be accelerated. Starting in 2028, the settlement of the previous year should be completed by the end of March each year, with settlement funds accounting for approximately 3% of the annual healthcare security fund disbursement. Innovative models such as quarterly settlements will be promoted. Localities with suitable conditions are encouraged to explore including critical illness insurance funds and medical assistance funds in the accelerated settlement scope, gradually shortening the settlement cycle for cross-regional medical expenses.
