In early December 2025, key steel enterprises produced a total of 18.69 million tons of crude steel, averaging 1.869 million tons per day, a 2.8% increase compared to the previous period; 17.14 million tons of pig iron, averaging 1.714 million tons per day, a 3.4% decrease compared to the previous period; and 18.29 million tons of steel products, averaging 1.829 million tons per day, a 12.1% decrease compared to the previous period. Based on this, it is estimated that the national daily crude steel output for this period was 2.28 million tons, a 5.3% increase compared to the previous period; daily pig iron output was 2.09 million tons, a 0.2% increase compared to the previous period; and daily steel product output was 3.87 million tons, a 5.4% decrease compared to the previous period. Due to fluctuations in data from some large enterprises and the concentrated settlement of inventory at the end of last month, the daily steel product output for this period saw a significant decrease. Excluding the impact of inventory settlement, the daily steel product output for this period decreased by 10.7% compared to the previous period. (China Iron and Steel Association)
