[Reserve Bank of India Announces Large-Scale Bond Auction, Ultra-Long-Term Bonds Draw Attention] ⑴ The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced that it will auction a total of 300 billion rupees in government bonds on December 19. ⑵ The specific issuance plan includes: 180 billion rupees in 6.01% bonds maturing in 2030, and 120 billion rupees in 7.09% bonds maturing in 2074. ⑶ The auction of 50-year ultra-long-term bonds (maturing in 2074) is particularly noteworthy, accounting for 40% of the total issuance. ⑷ This large-scale, long-term bond issuance plan aims to finance the government's fiscal needs and will also test the market's acceptance of India's ultra-long-term debt and risk pricing.
