[Trump Sues BBC for $5 Billion] On November 15th, local time, it was learned that US President Trump has officially sued the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), seeking $5 billion in damages, accusing the BBC's documentary "Panorama" of defamation. According to excerpts from an internal BBC memo released on November 3rd, the BBC's "Panorama" documentary, "Trump: A Second Chance?", broadcast last year, spliced together two clips of Trump's speech to make it appear as if he was inciting supporters to participate in the January 6, 2021, riot at the US Capitol. The BBC's splicing of the speech sparked huge public controversy. On November 10th, Trump's legal team demanded that the BBC withdraw the documentary and apologize, otherwise they would file a lawsuit seeking at least $1 billion in damages.
