[UK Total Wages Growth Exceeds Expectations in Three Months to October] ⑴ In the three months to October, average weekly wages in the UK, including bonuses, rose 4.7% year-on-year to £739, a slowdown from the slightly revised 4.9% growth, but higher than the market expectation of 4.4%. ⑵ Private sector wage growth slowed to 4.0% from 4.4%, the slowest pace since the period from December 2020 to February 2021. ⑶ Conversely, public sector wage growth accelerated to 7.7% from 6.8%, the highest level since the period from July to September 2023. ⑷ Adjusted for inflation, total wages grew by 0.6%, lower than the 0.7% in the previous quarter, the lowest level since the period from May to July 2025.
