[Italy's November Inflation Rate Revised Down to 1.1%] ⑴ Italy's annual inflation rate slowed to 1.1% in November, revised down from the initial estimate and October's 1.2%, marking the lowest level since October 2024. ⑵ The main driver was a sharp drop in regulated energy prices (down 3.2% month-on-month, compared to a 0.5% drop in October), while the increases in unprocessed food (up 1.1%, compared to 1.9% in October), processed food (up 2.1%, compared to 2.5% in October), transport services (up 0.9%, compared to 2.0% in October), and entertainment and personal care services (up 3.0%, compared to 3.3% in October) all slowed. ⑶ Goods inflation also slowed to 0.1% from 0.2%, while services inflation cooled to 2.3% from 2.6%. These effects were partially offset by a narrowing decline in unregulated energy prices (down 4.3%, compared to a 4.9% drop in October). (4) Meanwhile, core inflation slowed to 1.7% from 1.9%, an eight-month low. On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.2% this month, following a 0.3% decline in October, in line with preliminary estimates. Harmonized consumer prices rose 1.1% year-on-year and fell 0.2% month-on-month.
