[Thailand Plans Charter Flights to Bring Back Citizens Stranded in Cambodia] Thailand's National Security Council announced on December 16 that it will arrange charter flights to bring back Thai citizens stranded in Cambodia. National Security Council Secretary-General Chatchai Bangchul stated that the council has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to coordinate arrangements for Thai citizens stranded in Cambodia to return to Thailand on charter flights. According to a press conference held by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs that day, there are currently 5,000 to 6,000 Thai citizens stranded on the Cambodian side of the Poipet border crossing between Thailand and Cambodia.
