International oil prices fell on the 16th. By the close of trading that day, the price of light sweet crude oil futures for January 2026 delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange fell by $1.55 to settle at $55.27 per barrel, a drop of 2.73%; the price of Brent crude oil futures for February delivery on the London ICE Futures Exchange fell by $1.64 to settle at $58.92 per barrel, a drop of 2.71%.
