[Russia Claims Control of Settlement in Kharkiv Region; Ukraine Claims Repelling Russian Forces from Multiple Directions] The Russian Ministry of Defense released a battle report on December 16th, stating that in the past 24 hours, Russian forces had taken control of the Novoplatonovka settlement in the Kharkiv region. Russian forces attacked 154 areas, including facilities transporting Western weapons, ammunition and fuel depots, and temporary deployment sites for Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries, destroying Ukrainian armored vehicles, artillery, military vehicles, and drones. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces released a battle report on the 16th, stating that as of 8:00 AM that day, 151 battles had occurred in the frontline areas in the past day. The Ukrainian Air Force, missile units, and artillery attacked Russian personnel concentrations, command posts, and artillery systems, repelling Russian offensives in the Pokrovsk, Kupyansk, and Leman directions, destroying Russian tanks, armored vehicles, artillery, and tactical drones.
