[Supreme People's Court Releases Revised Provisions on Causes of Action in Civil Cases to Take Effect on January 1, 2026] Today, the Supreme People's Court issued the "Decision on Revising the Provisions on Causes of Action in Civil Cases" and the "Notice on Issuing the Revised Provisions on Causes of Action in Civil Cases," making the third revision to the Provisions on Causes of Action in Civil Cases. Both documents will take effect on January 1, 2026, facilitating civil litigation for parties involved and standardizing the work of people's courts in civil case filing, adjudication, and judicial statistics. Furthermore, the revised Provisions on Causes of Action in Civil Cases further refines the third-level causes of action corresponding to cases that lawyers from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan can represent, and enriches the fourth-level causes of action under the third-level causes of action, increasing the types of cases that lawyers from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan can represent, in order to further promote the integration of lawyers from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan into the overall development of the country.
