The Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) issued an announcement regarding its 2026 market closure arrangements, in accordance with the relevant notices from the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC): I. New Year's Day: The SHFE will be closed from January 1st (Thursday) to January 3rd (Saturday), resuming normal trading on January 5th (Monday). January 4th (Sunday) is a weekend closure. There will be no night trading session on December 31st, 2025 (Wednesday). II. Spring Festival: The SHFE will be closed from February 15th (Sunday) to February 23rd (Monday), resuming normal trading on February 24th (Tuesday). February 14th (Saturday) and February 28th (Saturday) are weekend closures. There will be no night trading session on February 13th (Friday). III. Qingming Festival: The SHFE will be closed from April 4th (Saturday) to April 6th (Monday), resuming normal trading on April 7th (Tuesday). There will be no night trading session on April 3rd (Friday). IV. Labor Day: The market will be closed from May 1st (Friday) to May 5th (Tuesday), and will resume normal trading on May 6th (Wednesday). May 9th (Saturday) is a weekend closure. There will be no night trading session on April 30th (Thursday). V. Dragon Boat Festival: The market will be closed from June 19th (Friday) to June 21st (Sunday), and will resume normal trading on June 22nd (Monday). There will be no night trading session on June 18th (Thursday). VI. Mid-Autumn Festival: The market will be closed from September 25th (Friday) to September 27th (Sunday), and will resume normal trading on September 28th (Monday). There will be no night trading session on September 24th (Thursday). VII. National Day: The market will be closed from October 1st (Thursday) to October 7th (Wednesday), and will resume normal trading on October 8th (Thursday). September 20th (Sunday) and October 10th (Saturday) are weekend closures. There will be no night trading session on Wednesday, September 30th.
