The World Health Organization (WHO) warned on the 17th that the peak of influenza in Europe may arrive at the end of the year. Currently, the flu is spreading in Europe at a rate about four weeks earlier than usual. Among the 38 countries that have reported data, at least 27 have reached high or very high levels of flu activity. In countries such as Ireland, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia, and the United Kingdom, more than half of the flu-like cases tested have been confirmed to be infected with the influenza virus. The WHO emphasized that the elderly, patients with underlying diseases, pregnant women, children, and healthcare workers should be prioritized for vaccination. It is expected that the number of flu cases will continue to rise, with the peak of the epidemic likely to occur from the end of December to the beginning of January.
