International oil prices rose on the 17th. By the close of trading that day, the price of light sweet crude oil futures for January 2026 delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange rose 67 cents to settle at $55.94 per barrel, an increase of 1.21%; the price of Brent crude oil futures for February delivery on the London ICE Futures Exchange rose 76 cents to settle at $59.68 per barrel, an increase of 1.29%.
