The Korea Economic Daily, citing an anonymous source from the presidential office, reported that Kim Yong-beom, the chief of staff for policy at the South Korean presidential office, will hold an emergency meeting on Thursday with seven major companies to discuss foreign exchange issues. These companies include Samsung Electronics, SK, Hyundai Motor, LG, Lotte, Hanwha, and Hyundai Group. It is expected that the presidential office will discuss measures with exporters to encourage companies to convert their US dollar holdings into Korean won.
