[Germany Approves €50 Billion Arms Procurement Plan] The German Ministry of Defense announced on December 17 that a €50 billion arms procurement plan for the German Federal Armed Forces had been approved by the Bundestag's Budget Committee. A statement from the Ministry of Defense said the approved projects cover multiple domains, including land, sea, air, cyber, and space, and include the Arrow anti-missile system, the Patriot air defense system, the Puma infantry fighting vehicle, the Spock radar satellite system, and other weapons and equipment. The statement said 30 large-scale arms procurement projects were approved that day. The Bundestag's Budget Committee has approved 103 such projects this year, totaling €82.98 billion. The total amount of major procurement projects approved in the past three years has reached €188.4 billion, exceeding the total amount of the previous eight years (2015-2022). The statement said this scale of funding demonstrates Germany's active efforts to modernize the equipment of the Federal Armed Forces. (CCTV)
