[Costa Rica's Unemployment Rate Drops to 5.7% in Q3, a Record Low] ⑴ Costa Rica's unemployment rate fell to 5.7% in the third quarter of 2025, lower than 6.6% in the same period last year. ⑵ This is the lowest unemployment rate since records began in 2010, with the number of unemployed decreasing by 24,600 to 134,500. ⑶ At the same time, the employment rate fell to 51.7%, lower than the previous quarter's 53.5%, with the number of employed decreasing by 48,800 to 2.21 million. ⑷ During the same period, the labor force participation rate fell to 54.9%, lower than the previous quarter's 57.3%.
