[Switzerland's Trade Surplus Hits Three-Month High in November] ⑴ Switzerland's trade surplus widened to CHF 3 billion in November, compared with a revised CHF 2.5 billion in the previous month. ⑵ This is the largest surplus since August, with exports rising 1.6% month-on-month to CHF 22.8 billion, mainly driven by increased sales of chemicals and pharmaceuticals, machinery and electronic products, and watches. ⑶ Exports to the US rose 7.6%, rebounding from a 6.9% decline in the previous month, following an agreement that lowered US tariffs. ⑷ Meanwhile, imports fell 0.8% month-on-month to CHF 19.8 billion, mainly due to reduced purchases of chemicals and pharmaceuticals, food, and luxury goods. ⑸ Imports from Europe fell 1.3%, with a 1.4% decline from Eurozone countries and a 4.2% decline from non-Eurozone countries.
