[Hassett: Trump to Announce "Major" Housing Policy After Holiday] White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett revealed that the government will issue a "major announcement" regarding housing policy after the holiday. Hassett told Fox Business that officials plan to hold a "significant meeting" before Trump departs for Mar-a-Lago the following day to submit a comprehensive proposal for a radical housing policy to the president. He also mentioned that one of the possible options included in the proposal is to amend the tax code through legislation to allow taxpayers who do not use the itemized deduction method to enjoy mortgage interest deductions.
