"We are seeing some changes in the economic sphere," Lagarde said in Frankfurt on Thursday. "If we focus on the factors driving economic growth and those unexpected upside drivers, AI-related investments are a prime example." OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann also noted this week that the surge in AI spending is boosting the economy and helping to offset the negative impact of trade uncertainty. Lagarde added that this growth stems not only from public sector spending but also from significant private sector investment. "Based on the data we've collected and the research we've conducted, this is largely due to the development of AI."
