[Oli Re-elected Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist)] The 11th National Congress of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) concluded on September 18. The congress elected K.P. Sharma Oli as its chairman. Oli has served four terms as Prime Minister of Nepal. In early September, demonstrations erupted in Kathmandu and other regions of Nepal. On September 9, Oli submitted his resignation as Prime Minister to the President. On September 12, the Nepalese Presidential Palace announced the dissolution of the House of Representatives and planned to hold general elections on March 5, 2026.
