Canadian stocks fell more than 3.6% this week, and the yield on 10-year Canadian government bonds rose by about 28 basis points. The S&P/TSX Composite Index closed down 1.57% at 33,083.72 points, down 3.66% for the week. The small-cap index closed down 1.42% at 1,370.57 points, down 6.23% for the week. On Friday (March 6), in late North American trading, the yield on the benchmark 10-year Canadian government bond rose 5.5 basis points to 3.405%, up 27.8 basis points for the week.
