[Construction of Unit 2 of the Hualong One Nuclear Power Plant in Zhejiang Province Fully Commences] The concrete pouring for the nuclear island of Unit 2 of the Hualong One nuclear power plant at the Jinqimen Nuclear Power Plant in Zhejiang Province, undertaken by China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), has commenced, marking the full commencement of the main construction phase of the unit. Unit 2 utilizes my country's domestically developed third-generation nuclear power technology, the Hualong One, with a designed operating life of 60 years. It is scheduled to be completed and put into operation in 2031. According to reports, the Jinqimen nuclear power project is planned to construct six 1,000-megawatt pressurized water reactor Hualong One nuclear power units. Upon completion, it will generate 55 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 45 million tons. This will provide strong support for energy and power supply and the green and low-carbon transformation of Zhejiang Province and the Yangtze River Delta region. (CCTV News)
