On April 4, local time, the ruling Citizens' Agreement party of Armenia unanimously approved incumbent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan as its candidate for head of government in the June parliamentary elections at its eighth extraordinary congress held in the country's capital, Yerevan. Previously, Pashinyan had received a total of 933 votes in two rounds of secret ballots within the party, placing him at the top of the party's candidate pool.
