Bankers reported that the Central Bank of Turkey sold $5 billion in foreign exchange last week, bringing the total sales to $49 billion since the start of the Iran-Iraq War. The Central Bank's net reserves increased by $11 billion to $46 billion last week. Local swaps reached $13 billion last week, primarily driving the rise in both net and total reserves. Excluding swaps, net reserves decreased by $2 billion to $18 billion last week. The Central Bank's total reserves increased by $6.7 billion to $162 billion last week, marking the first increase after a cumulative decline of $55 billion since the start of the Iran-Iraq War.
