Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine had repeatedly proposed a ceasefire to Russia, at least during the Easter holiday. However, Russia maintains that there is no difference in timing, and nothing is sacred or inviolable. He believes that if Russia were capable of sustaining the conflict, it would not have proactively chosen peace. Only by inflicting significant economic losses on Russia could it be forced to consider abandoning the conflict.
