According to Iran's Fars News Agency on June 6, the Iranian military issued a statement saying that four Iranian army officers were killed in action during a US search and rescue operation in southern Isfahan province in the early hours of June 5. The statement indicated that during the engagement with US forces, Iranian troops used a shoulder-fired missile to hit a US aircraft, subsequently encountering attacks from other US aircraft, ultimately resulting in the deaths of the four officers, including a brigadier general and a colonel.
