[Some Indian Refineries Postpone Maintenance to Ensure Fuel Supply] (1) Indian petroleum ministry officials said on the 6th that due to the planned maintenance of the Vadinar refinery with a daily processing capacity of 400,000 barrels by private company Nayara Energy starting on the 9th, which will lead to a tightening of domestic liquefied petroleum gas supply, coupled with the shortage of petroleum products affected by the Middle East conflict, some Indian refineries have decided to postpone equipment maintenance to ensure fuel demand. (2) Nayara Energy originally planned to conduct a one-month shutdown maintenance of the Vadinar refinery last year, but was forced to postpone the maintenance plan due to the difficulty in obtaining key materials caused by EU sanctions. (3) Industry insiders said that the shutdown maintenance is expected to last 35 to 40 days. Some oil companies, including Indian Oil Corporation and Bharat Oil Corporation, originally planned to carry out routine maintenance on some equipment, but have now decided to postpone it.
