Singapore's Home Minister, K. Shanmugam, stated that given the conflict in the Middle East, the possibility of energy supply disruptions in Singapore cannot be ruled out if more suppliers are unable to provide fuel or natural gas. Speaking in Parliament, Shanmugam indicated that Singapore will continue to develop solar energy in the near term and seek to import electricity. He added on Tuesday that the government is also evaluating other energy sources, such as nuclear power, to diversify its energy mix.
