Oil prices remained volatile amid continued tensions. ⑶ Financial, consumer cyclical, and defensive consumer stocks led the gains, while technology stocks lagged. LVMH rose 1.7%, Nestlé rose 1.3%, Hermès rose 2%, and Unilever rose 1.1%. On the other hand, ASML Holdings fell about 3% as US lawmakers unveiled the MATCH Act, which proposes to strengthen existing restrictions on the sale of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
