The Panamanian government has officially granted First Quantum, a Canadian mining company, permission to clean up and dispose of the ore stockpiles at its closed Cobré copper mine in Panama. Panamanian Minister of Commerce and Industry Julio Morto stated that the government expects to issue a formal decision no later than Tuesday, April 8th, allowing the company to retrieve and export the materials stored on-site.
