On September 9th local time, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Khatibzadeh stated in a media interview that the Strait of Hormuz remains open to navigation, although there are certain technical restrictions on vessel passage due to the conflict. Khatibzadeh pointed out that the strait is currently in a war zone environment, and Iran has implemented multiple control measures during the conflict. All vessels planning to pass through only need to communicate and coordinate with the Iranian military and relevant liaison points in advance. He emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz is narrow and involves the territorial waters of both Iran and Oman, requiring prudent measures to ensure the safe passage of oil tankers and other vessels. When asked whether US vessels would be allowed to pass, Khatibzadeh stated that, in principle, all types of vessels can pass as long as they do not engage in hostile acts, and no related risks have been identified. However, all vessels must comply with established coordination mechanisms and passage restrictions.
