Macron stated that France calls for the swift resumption of negotiations that have stalled in Islamabad. He emphasized that the ceasefire agreement must be strictly observed by all parties and should include Lebanon. Macron also pointed out that navigation in the Strait of Hormuz should be restored unconditionally as soon as possible, without any restrictions or fees. He further stated that France and the United Kingdom will co-host a meeting in Paris on April 17, convening non-conflict-affected countries via video conference to discuss a multilateral, defensive mission to restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz when conditions permit.
