The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recruiting volunteers from its staff to assist with Ebola virus screening at U.S. airports, as the severe outbreaks in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda continue to worsen. This move by the CDC aims to enhance its ability to screen international travelers. Priority for airport screenings will be given to CDC Ready Responders. The screening process includes conducting simple health questionnaires and temperature checks on arriving passengers. Individuals exhibiting symptoms will undergo further medical evaluation to determine if they may be infected with the Ebola virus.
