International oil prices showed a mixed trend on May 26. At the close of trading that day, the price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil futures for July delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange fell $2.71 to $93.89 per barrel, a drop of 2.81%; while the price of Brent crude oil futures for July delivery on the London ICE Futures Exchange rose $3.44 to $99.58 per barrel, an increase of 3.58%. This significant divergence between the two benchmark crude oil futures reflects the current international oil market being influenced by multiple factors. The varying effects of different factors, such as supply and demand expectations and geopolitical situations, on different markets have increased uncertainty in oil price fluctuations.
