[National Bureau of Statistics: Industrial Enterprise Profits Grow Rapidly] From January to April, profits of industrial enterprises above the designated size nationwide increased by 18.2% year-on-year, 2.7 percentage points faster than in the first quarter. Looking at the three major sectors, from January to April, mining and manufacturing grew by 26.0% and 20.4% respectively, 9.8 and 1.3 percentage points faster than in the first quarter; the production and supply of electricity, heat, gas and water declined by 1.9%, with the decline narrowing by 1.3 percentage points compared to the first quarter. In April, profits of industrial enterprises above the designated size nationwide increased by 24.7%.
