According to data released by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), from May 1st to 24th, retail sales of passenger vehicles nationwide reached 989,000 units, a 24% decrease compared to the same period last year, but a 10% increase compared to the same period last month. Year-to-date, cumulative retail sales reached 6.594 million units, a 19% decrease year-on-year. From May 1st to 24th, retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles nationwide reached 619,000 units, an 11% decrease compared to the same period last year, but a 13% increase compared to the same period last month. Year-to-date, cumulative retail sales reached 3.377 million units, a 16% decrease year-on-year. From May 1st to 24th, the retail penetration rate of new energy passenger vehicles nationwide was 62.5%; the wholesale penetration rate of new energy passenger vehicles among manufacturers nationwide was 63.6%.
