[Iran Releases Draft Memorandum of Understanding with the US: US Military Withdrawal, Lifting of Blockade, Could Become UN Security Council Resolution Within 60 Days] ⑴ Iranian state television announced on Wednesday that it had obtained a preliminary informal draft framework for a memorandum of understanding with the United States. According to the draft, US military forces will withdraw from areas surrounding Iran and lift the naval blockade. In exchange, Iran pledged to restore the number of commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz to pre-war levels within a month, excluding military vessels. ⑵ The management and routes of shipping traffic in the Strait of Hormuz will be handled jointly by Iran and Oman. If a final agreement is reached within 60 days, it will be ratified as a binding UN Security Council resolution. ⑶ Iranian state television also emphasized that the framework of the Islamabad memorandum has not yet been finalized, and Iran will not take any steps until it receives "substantiated verification."
