[Shandong's Largest Railway Freight Hub Completes Expansion and Renovation, Officially Put into Operation] On May 27, Shandong Yanzhou North Station, the largest railway freight hub in southwestern Shandong, successfully completed its expansion and renovation project and officially began operation. It is understood that this expansion and renovation project lasted two years, systematically optimizing and upgrading the station structure of Yanzhou North Station and Baijiadian Station—building and renovating one arrival yard, constructing one new shunting yard, building one new automated hump yard, constructing one new connecting line between Yanzhou North and Baijiadian, and optimizing and upgrading the power supply units of the existing Xinyan Line and Baiyan Line. As a result, the layout of the downlink system station at Yanzhou North Station has been changed from the original transverse type to a high-efficiency longitudinal type, solving the persistent problem of interference between shunting operations and train arrival and departure operations. From May 7, within a 20-day, 14-point blockade period, the construction team dismantled 69 sets of existing turnouts, installed 31 sets, and laid 39 new sets, simultaneously completing the electrical signal interlocking connection test and catenary renovation, laying a solid foundation for this major construction project.
