[Six European Countries Jointly Oppose EU Carbon Emission Standards] CCTV reporters have learned that on May 28th local time, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia jointly issued a warning, stating that the European Commission's plan to drastically reduce free CO2 emission allowances could lead to the bankruptcy of cement plants, steel mills, and chemical plants. The emission limits set are technically impossible to achieve. These countries warned that if the relevant mechanisms of the EU's carbon emissions trading system do not become more realistic immediately, Europe will face the risk of deep deindustrialization and loss of strategic autonomy.
