[Cuba Confirms Series of Measures to Counter US Maximum Pressure] Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel stated on the 12th that, in response to continued pressure from the United States, Cuba has identified a series of key tasks covering areas such as defense preparedness, economic and social development, opening up to the outside world, and energy transition. According to a statement released on the Cuban Presidential Palace website that day, Díaz-Canel said that the primary task is to strengthen defense preparedness, and another important priority is the "Government Economic and Social Plan for 2026," with the government already conducting research on more than 20 economic transformation-related issues.
